The CCC community is dedicated to following Jesus at every age. Along with serving with our skills, sharing our resources to support ministry, and gathering as the worshipping community, we commit ourselves to the continual transformation of the Holy Spirit as disciples of Jesus Christ.
This drop-in group meets in the sanctuary to practice centering prayer in silence on Mondays from 12:30-1 PM. By being silent in prayer, we seek to focus solely on God with undivided attention.
When else does that happen in our lives?
You don't need to know what you are doing to come; there will be instructions given at the opening of every prayer time.
If you have any questions, contact Pastor Chelsey.
What might modern discipleship look like? Based on The Good and Beautiful Series from James Bryan Smith, this 18-month pastor-led journey takes place in three parts and focuses on transforming our narratives about God, ourselves, and the world so that our thoughts, motives, and actions match God's will and design.
As we apprentice Jesus, we spend time in study on our own and in community; practice "soul training" exercises weekly to help us experience the concepts we're learning; and meet together regularly as we allow the Spirit to guide us into a new way of being.
Groups usually start in the fall or winter.
As part of our church renewal, we have joined with other faith communities around the world to go through the Faithwalking journey.
"Faithwalking is a spiritual formation process where people are increasingly following the way of Jesus, experiencing ongoing transformation, and developing effective practices for missional living: serving the poor, the marginalized, and those in need; working for the common good; and restoring individuals, social systems, communities, and nations to God’s intended design."
Members meet in pastor-facilitated groups every other week for 26 weeks. In between group meetings, each participant has weekly coaching calls and assignments to help them reflect, practice, and grow in their capacity to be fully human, fully alive, and fully faithful.
Throughout the year (with a break over the summer) men gather for breakfast on the first Saturday at 8 AM to listen to a guest speaker and conversation with one another. Women do similarly on the third Saturday of the month at 9 AM. Each meet at ABC Country Restaurant North.
BREAKING FOR SUMMER ~ RESUMES IN FALL
The Outreach, Evangelism and Missions Team is resuming the Sunday Night Drop-In from 7-8:30pm.
A typical evening begins with refreshments followed by the host introduction. We will watch a short 10 minute video and then discuss in small groups at tables. Each participant will have a one-page guide of questions for each session. You may drop in any week, no preparation is needed.
The current session is The Book of Ephesians with author Pastor J.D. Greear.
A small group intended to be family friendly, inclusive of singles, mixed families, and children.
Format is on a rotation of full family meal, women's study, men's study, and mixed study. Host families are rotated and a Sunday off is also mixed into the rotation. A video series from Right Now Media will be used for the study.
