Being the hands and feet of Jesus

Through service, resourcing, and walking alongside people, Christ Community Church seeks to share the love of God with the world. The ministries that we have decided to partner with help us to do this work with dignity and respect.

  • Other locally supported agencies

Through monetary offerings, special fundraising events and by members who volunteer, our church supports a few other Christian organizations here in town:

  • A Christian Response to Hunger

Canadian Foodgrains Bank's goal is a "world without hunger."

They provide food in times of crisis in the developing world; provide support in the areas of growing food and on nutrition; and they advocate for policies that will support families as well as seeking to educate Canadians on important issues.

Christ Community Church partners with Canadian Foodgrains Bank by participating in their advocacy campaigns, supporting their work financially, and using their educational materials.

  • Compelled by God’s deep passion for justice & mercy, World Renew joins communities around the world to renew hope, reconcile lives, and restore creation.

Serving worldwide as the development, disaster response, and justice arm of the Christian Reformed Church in North America, the aspects of World Renew's work are three fold: community development, disaster response and rehabilitation and advocacy.

Christ Community Church partners with World Renew by supporting a number of its initiatives; supporting its volunteers, relief workers, and ambassdors; and financially contributing to its work.

  • rainbows

Rainbows is a Grief Peer Support group program for children ages 4 to 12 who have experienced a loss such as divorce, death, abandonment, or foster care.

Please contact the local RM Society for more information:

How we serve: Christ Community Church hosts and supports one of the sites that meets during the school year.

  • Brunch bunch (7-10 Club)

How we serve: Christ Community Church partners with St. Paul's Anglican Church to serve a free brunch on the second Saturday of every month at the Community Services Building in downtown Nanaimo. Volunteers see this time as an opportunity to serve and love the community of our city.

  • loaves and fishes community food bank

Loaves and Fishes provides God's unconditional love as they

nourish the body and soul in a safe, friendly atmosphere.

Loaves and Fishes directly helps over 3500 different people each month through its network of 10 depots and its hamper delivery service. Additionally, food is provided to over 30 other Non-Profits in the Nanaimo area. This is all made possible by the work of over 400 volunteers who help ensure over $120,000 worth of food is distributed every month. We are also regular financial supporters of Loaves and Fishes.

How we serve: Christ Community Church is one of several weekly distribution locations, open Mondays (excluding holidays) from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Along with their groceries, we offer coffee and conversation.
